Storia dell' Accademia clementina di Bologna, aggregata all'Instituto delle scienze e dell'arti
A two-volume history of Bologna's Accademia Clementina written by its secretary Giampietro Zanotti and printed by Lelio dalla Volpe in 1739 for the academy's members and Italian art patrons. The plates are engraved portraits of painters and architects set in oval frames surrounded by scrolled cartouches, herms, putti, masks, swags of fruit and ribboned name-banners, usable as ready-made frame borders, decorative headpieces and ornament details.
