Storia della pittura italiana esposta coi monumenti

Rosini, Giovanni, 1776-1855, Cavagna Sangiuliani di Gualdana, Antonio, conte, 1843-1913, former owner. IU-R · 1848 · Pisa : N. Capurro · 86 pictures

Giovanni Rosini's multi-volume history of Italian painting, published at Pisa by Niccolò Capurro in 1848 for antiquarians, students and collectors, documents paintings from the Trecento through the Renaissance in engraved copies. The plates are pure outline engravings after altarpieces and frescoes—Madonnas enthroned, saints, donor groups, architectural niches and coffered apses—supplying clean contour drawings of drapery, haloes, Gothic arcading and grouped figures with no shading to fight.
