Storia delle arti del disegno presso gli antichi
Carlo Fea's annotated Italian edition of Winckelmann's history of ancient art, printed in Rome by Pagliarini in 1783 for antiquarians, collectors and artists studying Greek, Etruscan and Egyptian monuments. The copperplates combine outlined relief and gem compositions of sacrifice, priests and processions with closely hatched three-quarter busts, offering designers clean contour figure groups, drapery and headgear patterns, and modelled portrait heads against blank grounds.
