Carlo Fea's Italian edition of Winckelmann's history of ancient art, printed in Rome by Pagliarini in 1783 for antiquarians, collectors and artists studying Greek and Roman sculpture. Engraved plates record statues, portrait heads, gems and reliefs in fine outline and stipple shading, with oval gem frames and plate numbers, giving designers classical figure studies, drapery, and cameo-style profiles.
