The Stowe missal, ms. D II 3 in the library of the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin
A scholarly facsimile edition of the Stowe Missal, an early Irish Latin mass-book held by the Royal Irish Academy, edited by George F. Warner and printed in London for the Henry Bradshaw Society in 1906 for liturgists and paleographers. Photographic plates show the metalwork shrine that housed the manuscript: engraved figures of a crucified Christ and a crozier-bearing bishop, interlaced beast roundels, chequer and triangle panels, rivet studs, and bands of Irish inscription useful as ornament, lettering reference, and texture.
