The Street railway journal
A New York trade periodical issued by McGraw Publishing from 1884 for street railway managers, engineers and equipment suppliers, reporting on horse, cable and electric traction. The plate here is a halftone photograph of a riverside boulevard with open-platform trolleys, overhead wire and poles, a stone bridge tower and harbor steamers behind, useful for period street furniture, urban skylines and grainy tonal backdrops.
