The structure of the atmosphere in clear weather; a study of soundings with pilot balloons
A 1912 Cambridge University Press meteorological monograph by C. J. P. Cave reporting pilot-balloon soundings of upper-air winds, written for researchers and weather observers. The plates are line-drawn synoptic charts of Britain and the North Sea with nested isobar loops, LOW and HIGH labels, numeric pressure annotations, wind-arrow fields and altitude profile graphs on toned paper.
