Studio international
The Studio, a London art and design periodical begun in 1893 and issued by Cory, Adams & Mackay for artists, craftworkers and collectors of applied art. Plates are halftone reproductions of contemporary paintings and drawings — hazy river valleys, snowbound hillsides, a sunlit courtyard, figure groups in dim interiors — useful for soft grey tonal washes and atmospheric landscape massing.
