Studio international
The Studio, a London art magazine begun in 1893 by Cory, Adams & Mackay, reported on painting, etching and the applied arts for artists, craftworkers and design-minded readers. Plates are mostly halftone and photogravure reproductions — misty tonal landscapes, seated figure studies in white dresses, dark profile portraits — alongside ornament and craft designs, useful for soft grey-scale texture, silhouette-heavy portrait framing and period pattern motifs.
