Submarine and anti-submarine
Henry Newbolt's 1919 account of submarine and anti-submarine warfare in the First World War, published by Longmans, Green in New York and London for general readers following the naval campaign. The 21 pen-and-ink plates show destroyers, U-boats, decoy schooners and steamers at sea, built from dense parallel hatching for sky and swell against blank paper, with heavy silhouettes and small figures on deck.
