Surrey archaeological collections, relating to the history and antiquities of the county
A volume of the Surrey Archaeological Society's collections, published in London in 1912 for members and local antiquarians documenting the county's monuments and records. The plates reproduce rubbings of monumental brasses — standing effigies of knights, women in horned headdresses, and robed clergy, with heraldic shields, canopy fragments, and blackletter inscription strips — giving designers high-contrast black silhouettes and period lettering that cut cleanly for stencils and patterns.
