Surrey archaeological collections, relating to the history and antiquities of the county
A volume of the Surrey Archaeological Society's county antiquarian journal, issued in London in 1916 for local historians, genealogists and church recorders. The plates reproduce monumental brass rubbings as solid black figures on cream — Tudor and Stuart men and women kneeling or standing with hands joined, ruffs, cloaks and patterned gowns, heraldic shields above, and dotted lines marking lost metal; useful for silhouette figures, costume detail and blank shield shapes.
