Symbola diuina & humana pontificum, imperatorum, regum
A compendium of the personal devices and mottoes of popes, emperors and kings, compiled by Jacob Typotius with plates engraved by Aegidius Sadeler, issued in Latin at Frankfurt in 1652 for heralds, courtiers and scholars of emblems. Each engraving is a ruled circle with a Latin motto running round the rim and a single etched motif inside — radiant sun, sheaf of arrows, dove, plant on a peak — usable as seals, roundels, badges and rule-bordered marks.
