Symbolism of animals and birds represented in English architecture
A 1913 study by Arthur H. Collins, published in London by Pitman, cataloguing the beasts and birds carved into English medieval churches for antiquarians and clergy. The plates are numbered photographs of stone capitals, corbels, arch mouldings and font panels, showing lions, dragons and hybrid creatures in high contrast — useful as reference for Romanesque animal ornament.
