Bosch, Jacob, 1652-1704, Müller, Jakob, ca. 1670-ca. 1703, Wolfgang, Johann Georg, 1662 or 4-1774, Schalckh, J. C., 18th cent · 1702 · Augustae Vindelicorum & Dilingae : Apud Joannem Casparum Bencard · 211 pictures

A Latin handbook of emblem and device making, compiled by the Jesuit Jacob Bosch and issued at Augsburg and Dillingen in 1702 with copperplates by Jakob Müller, Johann Georg Wolfgang and J. C. Schalckh, for preachers, writers and designers of imprese. Each plate grids twelve numbered oval or round medallions inside foliate strapwork frames, every one carrying a Latin motto over a small scene: ships, swans, eagles, hedgehogs, comets, altars, sundials, beehives, buildings and open landscapes, usable as ready-made spot vignettes, borders or numbered icon sets.
