Symbolographia, sive De arte symbolica sermones septem
A Latin treatise on symbolic and emblematic devices by the Jesuit Jacob Bosch, printed by J. C. Bencard at Augsburg and Dillingen in 1702 and engraved by Johann Georg Wolffgang and Jacob Müller for scholars, preachers and makers of impresa. Each plate ranges nine to twelve numbered oval medallions in dense scrollwork frames, with Latin mottoes on ribbon banners above scenes of beehives, furnaces, ships, compasses, trees and lightning; useful for vignette grids, cartouche borders and ready-made symbolic motifs.
