Symbolorvm et emblematvm ex re herbaria desvmtorvm centvria vna
Joachim Camerarius the younger's Latin emblem book of a hundred plant emblems, printed at Nuremberg in 1590 by Hofmann and Camox for scholars and collectors of moral-natural imagery. The plates pair round engraved scenes of trees, herbs and gardens with mottoes, and the text is broken up by square woodcut initials filled with hatched foliate scrollwork, useful for roundel frames, botanical motifs and display capitals.
