Tableaux anciens et modernes, objets d'art et d'ameublement
An auction catalogue for the Paul Mame collection of old and modern paintings and decorative art, sold at the Galerie Georges Petit in Paris in 1904 with notes by Léon Roger-Milès, issued for collectors, dealers and bidders. The 72 plates are grainy halftone photographs of paintings: bust portraits in embroidered doublets and jewelled headdresses, wooded garden scenes with figures, and loose sketch-like groups, offering designers high-contrast period faces, costume detail, and soft grey photographic texture.
