The wood-engraved cuts show livestock and poultry in stock-catalogue poses \u2014 a black bull head-on and in profile on a tufted ground, a goose among reeds, a turkey fanning its tail \u2014 dense black masses built from hatching, usable as silhouettes, spot illustrations, or agricultural label art.
