Tales of the toys : told by themselves
A collection of children's stories by Frances Freeling Broderip, illustrated by Tom Hood and Charles A. Ferrier and published in London by Griffith and Farran in 1869 for young readers. The images here are wood-engraved page furniture rather than scenes: trailing leaf-and-bud headpieces, a dense acanthus scroll band, and foliate initials that can be lifted as rules, chapter openers and section markers.
