Tapestry
A South Kensington Museum art handbook on tapestry by Alfred de Champeaux, translated by Mrs Richard Foster Sketchley and issued in London in 1878 for design students, manufacturers and museum visitors. The wood engravings copy woven scenes: peasants scuffling in a landscape, gesturing figures in pointed hats, framed by trees and cottage roofs, useful for crowd groupings and dense cross-hatched tone.
