An engraved album by Johann Ulrich Krauss, printed in Augsburg in 1687 with parallel French and German text, reproducing the Gobelins tapestries of the Four Elements and Four Seasons designed by Charles Le Brun for Louis XIV, with emblem devices explained by André Félibien. Each plate sets an allegorical figure in a landscape inside a deep border of fruit swags, trophies, armour and oval medallions holding miniature views and mottoes.
