Tapis, tissus & faïences orientales, suite des Dessins de tissus (Europe, XVIIIe & XIXe siècles)
A portfolio of photographic plates issued by the Musée des arts décoratifs in Paris and published by Armand Guérinet in 1900, documenting oriental carpets, textiles and faience alongside European printed wallpapers and painted panels of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, for the use of designers and manufacturers. The halftone plates show flat pattern in close view: arabesque pilasters, coffered ceiling compartments, scrolling floral borders, star medallions, rosettes and figured friezes, usable as repeat motifs, panel frames and corner ornaments.
