An excavation report on the predynastic and early dynastic cemeteries at Tarkhan and the site of Memphis, published in 1913 by Flinders Petrie and Gerald Wainwright for the British School of Archaeology in Egypt and its subscribing scholars. The plates are draughtsman's line records: grids of stone-vessel profiles labelled by material and tomb number, outline sections of bowls and dishes, and flaked flint knives and blades drawn with every scar, useful as repeating silhouette sets, contour patterns and annotated diagram layouts.
