A 1774 French architectural treatise by Louis Avril comparing famous Greek and Gothic religious monuments, printed with a London imprint and sold in Paris by Musier fils, for antiquarians and architects. The indexed images are typographic ornaments assembled from printers' flowers: lozenge and cartouche-shaped head- and tailpieces with scrolled acanthus corners, dotted rules, and grids of small asterisks and squares, useful as modular border units, page dividers, and repeat patterns.
