L'art d'imprimer les tableaux
A French treatise on Le Blon's three-colour printing process, written by Antoine Gautier de Montdorge and issued in Paris in 1756 by P.-G. Le Mercier and partners for printers, engravers and collectors of colour prints. The pictures shown here are small letterpress woodcut ornaments — symmetrical scrollwork with urns, draped canopies, paired birds, cornucopias and flower sprays — usable as headpieces, tailpieces and rule-and-border fillers at small sizes.
