Test of a highway bridge
A 1911 civil engineering thesis by Howard William Kaar and Henry Pearson Kettron at the University of Illinois, recording load tests on the reinforced concrete Schwartz Bridge at Urbana, Illinois, submitted for a degree and read by faculty and fellow engineers. The plates are hand-inked line graphs on printed graph paper, with hand-lettered titles, dashed reference lines, and stress curves in black and red, useful for grid textures, technical lettering, and plotted-line motifs.
