A text book on Cluny and torchon laces
An instructional manual on making Cluny and torchon bobbin lace, written by Mary Eva Woodward and printed in Washington by McGill & Wallace in 1904 for lacemakers working from patterns. The plates are halftone photographs of finished lace laid on black grounds, showing edgings, insertions, and corner samples with picot loops, plaited bars, dense cloth-stitch spots, and open net; useful as high-contrast white-on-black texture, border repeats, and ornamental rules.
