Textiles and clothing
A 1910 home-economics textbook by Kate Heintz Watson, issued by the American School of Home Economics in Chicago for women studying sewing, dressmaking and fabric selection by correspondence. Halftones and line cuts show sample cloths worked with rows of hand stitches, darned and patched repairs, hemmed and fringed edges, and lettered diagrams of seams, giving designers stitch textures, woven-surface grounds and annotated instructional plates.
