Textiles and clothing
A 1907 home-economics textbook by Kate Heintz Watson, issued by the American School of Home Economics in Chicago to teach sewing, fabric selection, and dressmaking to household students. Photographs of cloth samples and line diagrams show hand stitches, seams, hems, pocket construction, and lettered stitch keys, giving designers stitch-mark textures, dotted and dashed rules, and plain woven-surface grounds.
