Theórie des jardins

Morel, J.-M. (Jean-Marie), 1728-1810, Pissot · 1776 · A Paris : Chez Pissot, libraire, quai des Augustins, près la rue Gilles-cur · 14 pictures

Théorie des jardins is a treatise on landscape garden design by the French landscape architect Jean-Marie Morel, printed in Paris by Pissot in 1776 for gardeners, architects and estate owners. The pictures here are small letterpress woodcut ornaments — knotted ribbons, laurel and olive sprigs, scrolls and bundled tools — usable as tailpieces, section breaks and coarse-grained decorative spot marks.
