Thermometric lag
A 1913 technical report from the National Bureau of Standards in Washington on thermometric lag, written for physicists, instrument makers and calibration laboratories. The plates are line engravings on tinted paper: apparatus trains with drying tubes and a large dial gauge, hatched cross-sections of mercury capillaries labelled in capitals, and semi-logarithmic grids crossed by annotated straight lines, useful as ready-made diagram vocabulary and chart textures.
