Thorvaldsens Museum
A German-language guide to the Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, compiled by Martinus Galschiøt and published by G.E.C. Gad in 1906 for visitors and students of sculpture. Halftone photographs record Bertel Thorvaldsen's neoclassical marbles: narrow horizontal narrative reliefs of helmeted warriors and draped mourners, and single standing figures lit from one side against black grounds, useful for classical figure silhouettes, drapery studies, and frieze-shaped panel layouts.
