A French-language monograph on the Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, written by Pompeo Molmenti and translated by Henri de Péréra, published by Hachette in Paris in 1911 for art historians and collectors. The plates are halftone reproductions of frescoes, altarpieces, oil sketches and pen drawings, full of figures borne up on banks of cloud, steep upward viewpoints and soft grey tonal washes that designers can mine for ceiling-style compositions, drapery and floating angel groups.
