Time and its measurement
A short technical history of timekeeping written by James Arthur, a New York machinist and clock collector, and published in Chicago in 1909 for general and horological readers. Halftone photographs and line drawings show lantern clock movements, open gear trains, skeleton dials with Roman and Arabic chapter rings, and a Persian-numeral watch face useful as mechanical and typographic reference.
