Torelli Saraynae Veronensis leg. doct. De origine et amplitudine ciuitatis Veronæ : eiusdem de viris illustribus antiquis veronensibus, de his, qui potiti fuerunt dominio ciuitatis Veronæ, de monumentis antiquis vrbis, & agri veronensis, de interpretatione litterarum antiquarum : index præterea huius operis in calce additus est
Torello Saraina's Latin antiquarian survey of Verona's origins, notable citizens, Roman monuments and inscriptions, printed by Antonio Putelletti in 1540 with woodcuts after the painter Giovanni Caroto for humanist scholars and collectors of antiquities. The plates isolate fragments of Roman masonry — Corinthian capitals, dentil cornices, carved friezes of acanthus scroll and rosettes, pedestals with measuring scales and inscribed capitals — in fine parallel hatching usable as ornament stock and lettering models.
