Traicté de la sphere dv monde. Diusé en cinq liures
A French treatise on the sphere of the world in five books by Jean Boulenger, printed in Paris by Olivier de Varennes in 1664 as an instructional text on astronomy and the celestial sphere. The woodcuts are small circles divided by horizon and meridian lines, with halves filled in solid black or ruled hatching and asterisk-like stars at the poles, giving designers stark geometric roundels and ready-made hatching textures.
