Traité analytique des sections coniques : et de leur usage pour la resolution des équations dans les problêmes tant détermines qu'indétermines
A French treatise on conic sections and their use in solving determinate and indeterminate equations, written by the marquis de L'Hospital and issued in Paris by Moutard in 1776 for mathematicians and students; this copy came from John Adams's library. The plates group numbered geometric constructions on open pages: hyperbola pairs, tangents, chords, lettered points and fine hatched ruling usable as line diagrams and technical ornament.
