Sébastien Le Clerc's geometry manual for artists and craftsmen, reissued in Paris by Jombert in 1764 from a copy once owned by John Adams. Each engraved plate stacks lettered diagrams of circles, triangles and polygons above a small etched landscape vignette with figures, ruins and rivers, offering both clean geometric line work and pastoral scenes.
