Traité de mécanique céleste
Laplace's five-volume treatise on celestial mechanics, printed in Paris by Crapelet for Duprat from 1798 and held in the Smithsonian's Burndy Library, addressed to mathematicians and astronomers. The pictures indexed here are not diagrams but the binding's marbled endpapers in red, yellow, black and grey on stone-coloured ground, usable as scanned texture, tiling pattern, or cover stock at full page or in close crops.
