Traité d'architecture : avec des remarques et des observations tres-utiles pour les jeunes gens, qui veulent s'appliquer à ce bel art
A treatise on architecture by the French engraver Sébastien Le Clerc, published in Paris by Pierre Giffart in 1714 and addressed to young men beginning the study of the art. Alongside its architectural plates the volume carries small relief-cut headpieces and tailpieces: symmetrical scrollwork frames, shells, drapery swags with hanging tassels, acanthus, and urns spilling flowers, printed in coarse black line that holds up at small sizes for chapter openers, rules, and decorative dividers.
