Traité de la peinture
Leonardo da Vinci's treatise on painting, translated by Roland Fréart de Chambray and reissued in Paris by Deterville in 1796 for painters and students of perspective. Engraved figures pair outline nudes with ruled sight-lines, and set geometric diagrams of light rays, arcs and squares directly into the text; useful for line studies of the body and optical schematics.
