Danvila y Collado, Francisco · 1877 · Madrid, Fortanet · 17 pictures

A Spanish costume and arms history by Francisco Danvila y Collado, printed by Fortanet in Madrid in 1877, tracing dress and weaponry from prehistory to the early nineteenth century for antiquarians, artists and historical illustrators. The plates are numbered line engravings showing grouped figures in period dress with spears, shields, helmets and draped robes, each figure keyed by numeral, useful for costume reference, silhouette studies and cut-out figure groups.
