A volume of the annual Transactions of the Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, published at Shrewsbury in 1888 for county antiquaries and local naturalists. The plates are halftone photographs of excavated finds isolated on blank grounds — flint arrowheads, spindle whorls, carved stone fragments — alongside line diagrams of Roman road alignments with hand-lettered route names, useful as small artefact silhouettes, numbered specimen layouts, and map lettering.
