Transactions of the Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History Society
A volume of the Transactions of the Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, published in Shrewsbury in 1892 for county antiquarians and local historians. The plates reproduce facsimile autographs and signed closings from seventeenth-century letters, including Prince Rupert's looping flourished hand and Oliver Cromwell's "yo[u]r loving frend, Oliver P.", printed in black line against the page text showing through — usable as calligraphic marks, period penmanship models, or authentication motifs.
