Annual proceedings of a county antiquarian society, published at Shrewsbury in 1896 for members recording Shropshire excavations, records and natural history. The plates here are photographic facsimiles of transcribed medieval rolls: narrow columns of Latin personal names and money sums set in small type crowded with contraction marks, thorns, paragraph signs and marginal abbreviations, useful as dense type texture, ornamental scribal marks, or ready-made list-column backgrounds.
