Tratado único y singular del origin de los Indios del Perú, Méjico, Santa Fé y Chile
A nineteenth-century Madrid reprint (J.C. García, 1891) of Diego Andrés Rocha's 1681 treatise arguing that the Indians of Peru, Mexico, Santa Fé and Chile descended from the lost tribes of Israel, issued for Spanish antiquarians and Americanist scholars. The pictures are small repeated wood-engraved headpiece ornaments: a draped classical female figure with a crook flanked by winged putti, set in a stippled oval cartouche with scrolling foliate corners, useful as chapter dividers, borders and frame stock.
