Travels in space; a history of aerial navigation
A popular history of ballooning and early airships by E. Seton Valentine and F. L. Tomlinson, published in London by Hurst and Blackett in 1902 for general readers following the aeronautics craze. The 57 plates mix engraved views of gas balloons and steam airships over landscapes and crowds with halftone photographs of dirigibles on the ground, giving designers rigging diagrams, envelope shapes and cloud-filled skies rendered in fine line and stipple.
