A treatise on the art of weaving, illustrated by engravings. With calculations and tables for the use of manufacturers
John Murphy's 1827 Glasgow technical manual, published by Blackie and Fullarton for textile manufacturers and loom weavers, explains weaving with engraved plates, calculations and tables. The plates give numbered grid drafts filled with black and white squares, plus line diagrams of warp, weft and harness threads crossing in loops "" usable as modular pattern fields, halftone-like checker textures and technical linework.
