Treatise on the steam engine
A technical treatise on the steam engine by James Renwick, professor of natural philosophy at Columbia, published in New York by G. & C. & H. Carvill in 1830 for students, mechanics and engine builders. The plates are engraved and woodcut sectional diagrams of boilers, cylinders, beam linkages, valves and governors, drawn in fine outline with hatched shading for brick furnaces and water levels and lettered part keys, useful for machine-part silhouettes, cutaway conventions and hatch textures.
